If your dream of a vacation with a castle atmosphere and a touch of history, in peaceful surroundings with many walking tracks, a splendid view over the landscape and many different possibilities for activity and excursions , not the least to Barcelona, Castell Trisor would be a very good choice.

The house is situated above the surrounding landscape in central Catalonia, not far from the town Cardona, and about 1 hour drive from Barcelona. In ancient times, the situation was selected to secure an overview of possible hostile entrants. As seen on many bigger Catalan properties, the house has a chapel on the property, dedicated to the San Francisco de Asís.

The house is constructed with typical materials such as limestone walls and tiles inside, keeping the house cool even on the warmest summer days. Distributed on two floors, there are in total 6 bedrooms. Three of the bedrooms are three-bed rooms and three are double rooms. There are three bathrooms for your disposition .

There is a very large dining room ensuite with a sitting room with chimney, TV and DVD. The house has a modern kitchen with all commodities such as dishwasher, micro wave and washing machine.

The outdoor facilities are also excellent. There is a small terrace on first floor. Additionally, there is access from the extensive, tiled court yard to a beautiful room with table tennis, a covered terrace with outside-kitchen and not the least the very nice pool-area with sun beds, which is fenced for the safety of small children.

Nearby, there are many walking tracks, and horse riding is possible at a farm in the nearby village. The situation centrally in Catalonia makes it possible to reach more or less every corner of Catalonia from Girona, Figueres with the Dalí museum and Costa Brava in the north , Barcelona and the wine district of Penedés below, and Tarragona in the south.

During your stay in Catalonia, it is obvious to make a trip to the metropolis Barcelona. It takes from most houses only 1-1½ hours to drive in to the Catalan capitol know for Gaudi, Miró, The Ramblas, the Gothic neighbourhood, F.C. Barcelona, the beach and many other things. The previous summers, many of our guests have chosen to rent a holiday apartment in Barcelona before our after their stay in the beautiful Catalan countryside.

Fantastic Scenery Stunning Castle

What a stunning place and scenery. Approx 90 mins drive away from Barcelona airport, going through the stunning scenery of Monserrat and 60 mins South from Andorra. We were a family of 13 that stayed in Mid May, catering for 3 generations. The castle itself is massive and you could quite easily find a place to your own within the castle or within the grounds of the castle. 5 bedrooms upstairs 3 bedrooms on the mid floor and 7 bathrooms all working and very clean. Massive medieval dining area within the castle and a must for lots of family photos around the table. Downstairs was a games room where the young ones generally hung out during the night playing pool, table tennis or table football.
Outside you have an outdoor kitchen and Barbeque area and again another big table to seat 16. The pool not too far away and again plenty of area to sunbathe although the pool was rather cold in May and only for the brave.
Solsona approx. 25 mins drive is where there’s a big reasonably priced supermarket to stock up on food and beer, however if you’ve time to look there is a small food shop that sold good steak at an unbelievably low price (£15 for 16 steaks!!!)
Cardona is 25 mins drive away too and well worth a visit boasting it’s own hill top castle and square with lots of little bars and restaurants.
The owners speak very little English however the daughter does help when out of school.
For those of you that fancy something different and can cope with the solitude this splendid castle boasts, then I would highly recommend it.

Great old building with an amazing view. Far from the nearest house. 30 min drive to big supermarket. Nice daytrip possibilities to Barcelona and Andorra.

Très bonne qualité, prestation sans faille, propriétaires adorables. Chateau de caractère tout confort. Retour dans le temps garantie. Un clme à toutes épreuves, à 15 minutes de Solano, avec tous les magasins voulu. Ville à visiter absolument. Je recommande cette location vous ne serez aucunement déçu .
